About Me

After earning my B.A. at the University of Virginia, my passion and career in massage began at the Rising Spirit Institute (formerly New Life Institute School of Massage Excellence) in Atlanta.  Immediately upon graduation, I started practicing in a private massage office in Atlanta.  In 2001, I moved to San Diego, where I established and maintained a successful private practice for over 8 years.

Although I had heavy involvement in the triathlon community, my experience ranges from working with the standard office worker to the professional athlete.  Having been an athlete my whole life, I understand the importance of preventative measures as well as rehabilitation therapy.  My clients and I, together, strive to create a therapeutic partnership and work to prevent injuries before they happen.  Preventative massage helps clients heal more quickly if and when they sustain an injury.

I recently became a sponsor of the Rocky Mountain Triathlon Club here in Denver, and I am especially looking forward to working with the athletes in our active community!

Massage Modalities

• Deep Tissue
  
  Deep Tissue focuses on the muscles below the superficial layer.
  
  
• Sports Massage
  
  Sports massage was designed for athletes, but is useful for anyone with chronic pain, injury or range-of-motion issues.  It emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons.
  
  
• Neuromuscular Therapy (N.M.T.)
  
  Also known as Trigger Point Therapy, NMT involves deactivating trigger points that may cause local pain or refer pain and other sensations, such as headaches, in other parts of the body.
  
  
• Reflexology
  
  Reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflexes in the hands and feet that relate to every organ, gland, and system of the body.
