. Jill Stedronsky Morton, MS, OTR.

After years of trying to heal from chronic pain caused by multiple traumas, I discovered John Barnes' Myofascial Release and I got my life back. I am now privileged to assist in the healing process of others using this powerful and effective modality. I believe in the innate ability of each individual to heal and I see my job as facilitating that healing process in an environment of genuine caring and compassion.

. Credentials and Degrees

I am a Nationally Certified Occupational Therapist and my training includes all Myofascial Release courses taught by John F. Barnes, PT, CranioSacral and Lymph Drainage courses from the Upledger Institute, and Healing Touch courses from the Colorado Center for Healing Touch. I am certified in Neuro Developmental Treatment (NDT) and have taken numerous neurological and orthopedic courses on the spine, pelvis and shoulder. I earned a Masters of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University in 1990. My Bachelors degree is in Social Sciences with a Psychology minor, also from Colorado State University, in 1984.

John Barnes' Myofascial Release is a gentle, hands on approach used to free up restrictions in the myofascial or connective tissue system of the body. These restrictions can be caused by surgery, injury, poor posture, pelvic torsions, birth injuries and/or emotional trauma. Symptoms of myofascial restrictions may include chronic pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, TMJ, carpal tunnel syndrome, pelvic pain, and restriction of motion. Benefits of Myofascial Release include decreased pain, enhanced functional abilities, greater flexibility, refined athletic performance, improved structural balance and integrity and decreased stress.  Myofascial Release always incorporates a mind/body philosophy, knowing that the mind exists in all cells of the body, and the two cannot be separated.

CranioSacral Therapy utilizes delicate manual techniques to release fascial restrictions surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This results in enhanced function of the central nervous system and an improved sense of general well being.

Myofascial Release combined with CranioSacral Therapy is often considered the missing link to problematic cases of pain and dysfunction. I blend these approaches with soft tissue mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, movement and postural awareness, and home exercise programs. I believe in the importance of empowering my clients by teaching self-treatment techniques to enhance and maintain the benefits gained through therapy.

As fascial restrictions melt away, clients experience not only greater freedom to move in their physical bodies, but in all areas of their lives.
